Intelligence, engineered.
KyperX investigates emerging technologies, defines systems and requirements, evaluates technical and economic dependencies, and advances selected technologies and projects through staged development.
Research & Development
Research, requirements and development pathways
KyperX integrates technical research, systems engineering and staged development. We define the problem, test the critical assumptions and build the evidence required to determine what should advance.
Research
Investigates technologies, alternatives and constraints, and turns them into defined engineering questions and evaluated options.
Engineering
Defines requirements, system architectures and techno-economic dependencies, producing design briefs, concept architectures and preliminary analysis.
Development
Structures selected technologies and projects into staged pathways, with the maturity of each stated.
Screening technical options
Research identifies possible approaches. Requirements and constraints narrow them to options worth engineering and evaluating. The highlighted route illustrates a development path through those options.

Modular Intelligent Systems
- Objective
- A modular robotics and electronics architecture in which reusable functional modules also form part of the machine’s structure.
- Work undertaken
- Initial definition of core interface requirements covering mechanical mounting, electrical power and data, together with functional module categories for sensing, computing, communication and actuation.
- Why it matters
- A common interface would let machine functions be reused across systems instead of redesigned for each one.
Current stage: Concept & requirements definition
- Structure
- Interface
- Power / data
- Sensing
- Compute
- Actuation
Every function connects through the common interface.
Concept architecture: every function reaches the machine through one common interface.
R&D program
Integrated Energy & Industrial Systems
- Objective
- Understand how renewable electricity, storage, hydrogen production and industrial processes interact when planned as one development configuration.
- Work undertaken
- Preliminary analysis of capacity relationships, equipment requirements and electricity use, including storage under industrial-load and electricity-price scenarios.
- Why it matters
- Identifies which relationships determine capacity and cost before equipment is sized in isolation.
Current stage: Concept & preliminary analysis
- Electricity
- Storage / hydrogen
- Industrial process
- Product
Electricity also reaches the industrial process directly.
Relationships between subsystems. Line weight does not represent quantity.
R&D program
Green Iron & Steel
- Objective
- A development pathway for lower-emission iron and steel, evaluating suitable iron-bearing feed, hydrogen-based direct reduction, electric steelmaking and the energy infrastructure they require.
- Work undertaken
- Preliminary investigation of process architecture, equipment sizing, electricity and hydrogen requirements, energy storage, sourcing economics and alternative ironmaking routes.
- Why it matters
- Electricity supply and hydrogen availability are as decisive for this pathway as the process equipment.
Current stage: Concept & preliminary analysis
- Magnetite
- Preparation
- Hydrogen DRI
- EAF
- Steel

Technical Capabilities
Technical capabilities
Applied according to the requirements and maturity of each program or engagement.
Capability 01
Technical research
ProducesTechnology investigations, option comparisons and defined engineering questions.
Why it mattersEstablishes what is technically possible before resources are committed.
Capability 02
Requirements definition
ProducesFunctional requirements, constraints, design briefs and evaluation criteria.
Why it mattersGives partners and funders a clear, testable basis for comparing options.
Capability 03
Systems engineering & architecture
ProducesSystem and process architectures, interface definitions and boundary assumptions.
Why it mattersSets many of the decisions that shape later cost, capacity and integration risk.
Capability 04
Technology & equipment evaluation
ProducesEvaluations of alternative technologies, equipment configurations and process routes.
Why it mattersJudges each option by how it performs in the complete system, not in isolation.
Capability 05
Techno-economic analysis
ProducesPreliminary capacity, utilisation and cost analysis for defined configurations.
Why it mattersTests viability early, before major development commitments are made.

Why it mattersGives partners, investors and grant bodies a clear basis for assessing each next step.
How KyperX Works
System definition, evidence and development decisions
Each engagement begins by defining the question, requirements and system architecture. Analysis then tests the critical technical and economic assumptions, informing whether—and how—the work should progress.
- Question
- Requirements
- Architecture
- Analysis
- Development
- Application
Analysis often revises the requirements.
